Southlake keeps people in sport later than most places do. That is a good thing, and it produces a particular set of problems: rotator cuffs and elbows in tennis and golf, knees in runners and skiers, and tendon injuries in high-school athletes training at close to collegiate volume.
Texas Orthobiologics is in Dallas, about forty minutes away via TX-114 and the Dallas North Tollway.

Don Buford, MD is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who has spent two decades teaching orthobiologics to other physicians. He serves as Chairman of the Biologic Association for 2026–2027, and is a past president of the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation, where he served two terms and still sits on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Since 2008 he has directed the Las Vegas Regenerative Medicine and MSK Ultrasound Course, one of the longest-running courses in the field, where more than 2,500 clinicians have trained.
The evaluation comes first and it is unhurried; new patient visits routinely run past forty-five minutes. Your imaging is reviewed with you, the joint or tendon is examined under ultrasound in the room, and the options are laid out with their real limits.
Every orthobiologic injection we perform is autologous, and every one is placed under ultrasound guidance so the needle is watched into the target in real time.
Both options. One board-certified surgeon.
TX-114 east to the Dallas North Tollway, then south and east to 3310 Live Oak Street - roughly forty minutes outside peak hours. Parking on site. If you have prior images, our office can show you how to upload them from our website at home, and sometimes the imaging facility's own portal will let you download them directly. Mention it and we will help.
Recurrent tendon problems are among the more reasonable indications, because the underlying tissue change is what injections are aimed at. But recurrence also raises the question of load and technique, which an injection does not fix. The evaluation examines the tendon under ultrasound to establish what state it is actually in before anything is offered.
High-dose single-injection PRP runs $1,500 to $3,500 nationally, varying with the joint and protocol. BMAC runs $5,000 to $13,000. These are national ranges rather than a quote for your treatment, and your own investment is confirmed in writing at the consultation before you commit. CareCredit offers interest-free terms of six to eighteen months.
Dr. Buford does, personally, under ultrasound guidance. This is a single-physician practice and the procedure is not delegated. He has taught that technique to more than 2,500 clinicians through the Las Vegas Regenerative Medicine and MSK Ultrasound Course, which he has directed since 2008.
New patient evaluations routinely run past forty-five minutes, because the imaging review is the appointment.
