When an orthobiologic can do the job

Every injection and aspiration is performed in the office, under real-time ultrasound, by Dr. Buford himself — not delegated, not blind, not guesswork.

01

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

Your own concentrated platelets, placed exactly where the imaging says the problem is. Osteoarthritis, tendon, ligament and joint pain in the shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, lumbar spine, hip, knee, foot and ankle.

02

Stem Cell / Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate (BMAC)

Bone marrow drawn and concentrated the same visit, then delivered under ultrasound guidance. For osteoarthritis, joints, tendons and ligaments where PRP alone is unlikely to be enough.

03
No injection required

Class IV MLS Laser Therapy

A course of in-office sessions for chronic low-back and neck pain, and for tendon and joint problems that need help healing. Most indications require 6–10 sessions. Sessions range between 4 and 15 minutes per location.

04

Second Opinion — Surgical or Orthobiologic

Two kinds of patients come for a second opinion. One has been told they need an operation and wants to know whether that is really the only option. The other has already been offered an orthobiologic and wants to know if what they are being offered is reasonable based on current standards and clinical evidence. Bring your imaging and your records either way and we will work thru the issues together!

05

What Is Regenerative Medicine | Orthobiologics?

Start here if the terms are new. What these treatments are, what the evidence supports today, who is a candidate — and who may not be a candidate.

Spine and back conditions are treated here — nonsurgically, with PRP, bone marrow concentrate and Class IV MLS laser therapy.

Surgery, when that's the right answer

Some challenges respond to an orthobiologic. Some challenges do better with surgery. Some even do the best with surgery and orthobiologics. The person telling you which is which is the same person who does it all.

01

Shoulder Surgery

Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, labral and SLAP repair, shoulder instability, AC joint procedures, biceps tenodesis.

02

Knee Surgery

Meniscus repair and debridement, ACL reconstruction, cartilage restoration, patellofemoral and other sports medicine procedures.

Concierge Care Direction

And the operations I don't perform

I don't do joint replacement, and I don't do spine surgery. If a hip or knee replacement — or a spine operation — is what you actually need, I'll tell you plainly, and I am still on your team: finding the right surgeon for your specific problem and handing off your imaging and workup personally.

One orthopedic surgeon telling you what you actually need — even when I'm not the one who does it.

In their own words

Patients on camera

Four of the patient conversations from Dr. Buford's channel — chosen to cover shoulder, knee and hip, surgical and nonsurgical. No script, no actors, no incentives.

Shoulder surgery + hip PRP

Operated on her shoulder — then treated her hip with an orthobiologic.

Shoulder · BMAC · 8-year follow-up

Eight years after a bone marrow injection for a rotator cuff tear.

Knee · BMAC

Bone marrow concentrate for knee arthritis, in his own words.

Hip · PRP

Treating hip pain without an operation.

Individual results vary; these patients describe their own experience and are not a prediction of outcome for anyone else. Each patient shown has signed a media release on file.
