Are there any safety or placebo trials registered for the peptide BP-157?
I get this question often from clinicians and patients ask me what I mean when I say there is no human safety data.
Here are the facts.
There is no peer reviewed, publicly posted human safety data for BP–157 despite rapidly growing use spurred on by podcasts, gym talk, and social media.
There was a registered trial, NCT02637284, and the title was: PCO-02-Safety and Pharmocokinetics Trial. This trial was registered on clinical trials.gov 10 years ago, in 2015, with an expected completion date in 2016.
BP-157 versus placebo.....seemed like a good idea for a trial.
However, despite 42 healthy volunteers enrolling, the authors withdrew the study and no results were ever published. This trial was listed in Tijuana Mexico. There is no note anywhere on why this trial was canceled and results not released, not even temporary results.
This is where we are at with human safety and placebo trial data with BP-157 after more than 10 years.....not awesome.
