Non-surgical and surgical options for bone, joint and tendon problems — from a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who performs the ultrasound, the injections and the operations personally.
Most people arrive here with a scan and no plan. What decides your treatment is not the name on the report but what the examination shows, what the tissue actually looks like under load, and what you need the joint to do. That gets sorted out in one visit, with diagnostic ultrasound performed in the room rather than booked out somewhere else.
Start with the part of the body that hurts.
-
Shoulder
-
Knee
-
Hip
Hip osteoarthritis, inflammatory arthritis, gluteus medius and gluteal tendon tears, labral tears and hip ligament injuries.
-
Elbow
Tennis elbow and golfer's elbow, elbow instability, ulnar and lateral ulnar collateral ligament injuries — the region with the strongest PRP evidence base of any we treat.
-
Hand & Wrist
-
Back & Spine
Chronic back pain, degenerative disc disease, disc herniation and facet joint arthritis — and an honest account of which of them orthobiologics can and cannot help.
-
Foot & Ankle
Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis and rupture, ankle sprains and instability, foot and ankle arthritis.

Class IV MLS Laser Therapy
Medical lasers are classified by the FDA based on power output and biological effect. Class IV is the most powerful therapeutic category.
The treatments themselves
- Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) — concentrated from your own blood, placed under direct ultrasound guidance. Best supported for tendinopathy and partial tendon tears.
- Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) — drawn from your own bone marrow. This practice has published eight-year outcome data on ultrasound-guided BMAC for partial-thickness rotator cuff tears.
- Class IV MLS laser therapy — for pain and inflammation, alongside the rest rather than instead of it.
- What orthobiologics actually are — including which products are legal to use in the United States and which are not.
- Arthroscopic and open surgery — when it is genuinely the right answer. Don Buford, M.D. has more than 26 years in practice and over 2,000 rotator cuff repairs performed.
Why the same physician does both
A clinic that only offers injections has one answer available, and every joint tends to become a candidate for it. A surgeon who does not offer biologics has a different single answer, and a natural threshold for reaching it. Someone who performs both has no structural reason to steer you toward either — which is what makes “this does not need an operation” worth something when you hear it.
