Lecturing at the 9th Annual Orthobiologic Institute Meeting in Las Vegas
15 minutes of bone marrow and bone marrow concentrate basic science review. The 9th Annual Orthobiologic Meeting is in session in Las Vegas right now and has already packed a lot into the first day. Yesterday I had a chance to review some bone marrow basic science. I reviewed work in this field by authors Matt Murphy, PhD, Katy Moncivais, Arnold Caplan, MD, Lisa Fortier, DVM, Linda Cassanom John Kennedy MD and others.
There have been 9 civil lawsuits (at least) filed against doctors and clinics in the USA!
These clinics and providers that are being sued all have a few things in common…..
#1 they all use either adipose or blood as a supposed source of stem cells
REINVENT BIOLOGICS (GENIUS CONCENTRATION SYSTEM) EARLY FIELD TEST TNC RESULTS
I field tested a bone marrow concentrate system that has been around for a while and which has a design that requires about 90 second of spin time in a two stage spin. There is a unique disposable design which I have been told is partly responsible for their decrease in required spin time to separate cells.

This case study is a 47 year old woman with years of knee pain from arthritis. She has had 2 prior surgeries and multiple steroid shots from other clinicians. We decided to use her own stem cells from her bone marrow….concentrate them…and inject them into the areas around her knee where she needs cartilage and bone marrow support.

Denver Investigative Journalists expose more stem cell fraud
Kudos to the Contact7 investigative journalists for exposing the rampant stem cell fraud being promoted by organizations like the Stem Cell Institute of America. If the orthopedic medical evaluation and orthobiologic procedures are not being done by an orthopedic trained (and ideally board certified) physician or surgeon……then the incidence of consumer fraud with stem cell treatments is more than 75% (just my opinion on the %)

We tested the Marrow Cellutions/Maxx Regen Needle on the left posterior iliac crest against a multiport Jamshidi Needle on the right posterior iliac crest (same patient) used in a unicortical, multi-depth technique.

Marrow Cellutions vs Jamshidi Round 1 CFU-f/ml Test Results
Recap: On one patient I used the Marrow Cellutions/Maxx Regen needle to draw a total of 9cc of marrow from the left posterior iliac crest. On the same patient I went 1 inch superior on the same crest, and using a multiport Jamshidi with the same 10cc size syringe as the MC needle, I drew 9cc of marrow in 1cc increments with needle advancement of 0.4cm between 1cc draws (trying to best match the MC needle technique)
